New monitoring of the heat wave risks

The risk of heat waves (weather with very high temperatures lasting several days) is increasing and their occurrence is closely linked to drought. Heat waves and drought interact with each other and have a negative impact on the water regime in the landscape as well as on vegetation, agricultural production and human health. We have therefore launched a new project aimed at monitoring, forecasting and tracking this negative climatic phenomenon in the Czech Republic.
