Czech Republic has seen the hottest day of the year and experiences high fire danger

Wednesday (14.8.2024) was so far the hottest day of the year for Czech Republic so far. However, temperature records were broken only at a few meteorological stations, because of high temperatures from previous few years. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute has issued warnings for high temperatures, wildfire occurrence, and severe storms for many districts of the Czech Republic.
